    G5 pro. Chime, no display

Yes to all of those. Always chimes, never displays. We tried 3 different cards in every slot. Moved ram around too. I had a light on one ram stick so I eliminated that one. But I still had 2 sticks in each board, in the first 2 slots. A thing too is, the fan on the original card went to 100%...

A friend came over yesterday with known working Mac video cards. Still no display. 😮‍💨

Unexpected Mac IICI with battery damage

Wow, good info for sure. I didn't even look that far beyond a superficial glance. I was more concerned with the battery area. I'll keep that in mind as I work through it, I'm hoping for basic operation before I turn to anything else. The friend who gave me this has a nubus video card that is...

Unexpected Mac IICI with battery damage

Just wanted to show off this Mac IICI I got today. My friend gave it to me as he has a working one I helped him fix and didn't have room to keep it for parts. It's yellowed, the PSU is untested and the motherboard has some ugly battery damage. The plan is to test it tomorrow and see what it...

    G5 pro. Chime, no display

Yeah that's what I got. 2 slots on front and the riser cards inside. I have them as 2 stick in each now, in a lot 1 and 2 in each. Still nothing. No lights on any of the cards either. Before I had a light on one card, I suppose indicating a bad stick, that stick isn't in the computer anymore...

    G5 pro. Chime, no display

Did this now, no change. I cycled through the 6 sticks on the 2 ram cards. Swapped the cards around too. Maybe a bum video card. Even moved the video card to a different slot and tried a different monitor with DVI to HDMI instead of the DVI to VGA that I was using

    G5 pro. Chime, no display

Ok I removed the hard drive and all the RAM but 2 sticks in dimm 1 and 2 on one of the boards. I mixed them around and tried the top slot and bottom, no change. I think the video card might be toast. Also I moved the video card to a different slot and used a different monitor, a dvi to HDMI...

    G5 pro. Chime, no display

Ah, I'll wait till the real keyboard comes. Can I boot it from USB? I might just install Linux instead of the original recovery disc

    G5 pro. Chime, no display

Is there a key on a Windows keyboard to open the disc tray?

    G5 pro. Chime, no display

I'll do that. I'm waiting for a dvi to HDMI dongle to come (it'll be here later today) to be sure it's not my cable or monitor

    G5 pro. Chime, no display

Ah, no keyboard. When I get one, I can try that. But the video ports are DVI

    G5 pro. Chime, no display

Quick preface. I know exactly 2 things about Macs, jack and squat, and Jack left town. So here I am lol. I got this machine today. Got it cheap and has no peripherals. It chimes but put nothing to my monitor. It could be the monitor, cable or the graphics card. Anything else it might be...

    Victory! IIc working again

This is the IIc I posted about a week or so ago. It has a composite video issue. Still technically does but the RGB dongle got around that issue. Seems to be working perfectly now! Just need to wash up the case and keyboard and I'll reassemble.

    Just got this IIc and.....

Yeah these guys who replied apparently didn't read your post, they're saying connect a keyboard, which you clearly said I did 😩
