Can the iBook G4 boot MacOS 9?

I'm pretty sure nobody has OS 9 working on iBook G4s at this time.

Good pink theme for OS 9?

Anyone know of a good Appearance Manager pink theme for OS 9? I found "Pink and then Some" for Kaleidoscope but it'd be nice to find one that's basically just the default Platinum theme but with a pink menu bar, window titles and borders, and etc. I'd also be possibly willing to do this myself...

    Power MachTen

In the AfterStep environment. In the background is gvim 5.8 displaying its own README.txt. I'm X forwarding from my Blade 100 to show the Solaris Management Console as well.

    Power MachTen

Following my thread on Professional MachTen in the 68k section, I thought I'd start a post on Power MachTen, which will even run on 9.2.2! In the attached picture, carl is running in the background on Power MachTen as a proxy to allow up to TLS 1.2 sites to be loaded on Classilla, in this case...

New Zip and Jaz Cartridge Testing Tool!

Awesome! Definitely interested; I have a Jaz drive I could test this with.

    CMU MacMach released

It seems that versions 5.92 and 6.92 of CMU's official Mach port to the Macintosh have finally surfaced, including sources. http://bitsavers.org/bits/CMU/Macmach/ From a cursory look inside, the necessary control panel to boot seems to be located in /usr/src/boot/Mac2 in Mach.Hqx. I'm not near...

    Sending Control/CTRL on Macintosh Plus

Is there an extension or something out there that'll allow you to, for example, do a key combo to send an equivalent to the control key on non-ADB Macs which don't have a control key?

Using Mini vMac image on Plus with SCSI2SD

Weirdly enough writing SavageTaylor's 2 GB 6.0.8 image to the SD card booted fine... I'm guessing I can just copy every thing over from my drive to their 6.0.8 image using Basilisk II and that'll be fine, but that doesn't explain why this was an issue in the first place. If anyone has ideas...

Using Mini vMac image on Plus with SCSI2SD

I also tried extracting the driver from SavageTaylor's 6.0.8 2GB image through dd if=608_2GB_drive.dsk of=../driver43.img skip=64 bs=512 count=32. It appears to be from HD SC Setup 7.3.5 looking w/ a hex editor, but the same thing happens on the Plus. Hm.

Using Mini vMac image on Plus with SCSI2SD

Thanks; FWIW I realize this, I'm trying to get the image from vMac to a Mac, not the other way around.

Using Mini vMac image on Plus with SCSI2SD

I'm trying to get a disk image created in vMac up on a Plus through the SCSI2SD. I've already followed codesrc's HFS from scratch guide (https://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=HFSFromScratch) and have used that to prepare the image, but the Plus just goes into a reboot loop or shows...

    Macintosh Plus and M0110A woes

Yeah, it's straight through as it should be for the M0110A. Anyways, if anyone else needs to find the ROM for the 8748 in the M0110A, look up "mackbd_m0110a.zip". I've ordered a D8748HD and I'll post results here when I get around to getting the thing flashed and in the keyboard.

    Macintosh Plus and M0110A woes

On all other pictures of the inside of the M0110A I see online, it seems there's an Apple labelled chip in the socket, labelled 8630X7 48H517 341-0332. Is this just a revision difference? E.g.: Whereas this was the chip in mine...

    Macintosh Plus and M0110A woes

Opened it up and it looks like one of the pins on the D8748HC is corroded horribly up to the chip. Guessing I should grab another one of these and see...

    Macintosh Plus and M0110A woes

I picked up a Macintosh Plus from VCFMW and have finally gotten around to testing the thing out properly. I have it booting off of a Floppy Emu with System 7.1 and 6.0.8 and am using a Kensington Turbo Mouse Plus with success. I finally got around to scrounging cable for the M0110A keyboard, but...
