This is awesome info. My IIc has something even more weird going on - I get checkerboard pattern to the screen, power LED turns on but no response to any of the keys (reset, combos included). I have now swapped all the RAM (16), all of the logic chips, MMU, IOU, CPU, ROMs and IWM from working...

Any hints where to buy the stencils for PLCC and QFP chips? Soldering by hand, especially with a microscope, seems a bit too daunting...
