    USB-Serial Adapter and Cable Options

I found this serial cable in a box of stuff. I can't remember how I acquired it but apparently it was for the Apple Newton to connect to a PC. I checked the pins and the 3 required pins and the shell are connected correctly so it should work with Reconnaissance.

    Classic - Reloaded build

Thanks. I found R66 but I just want to verify that it should be a 47 ohm resistor? My donor board also had a C75 capacitor but I will just ignore that one since it's not on the Reloaded board. All the other passives have matched up with the donor board and the Reloaded.

    Classic - Reloaded build

Now I'm puzzled a bit. I thought R66 was just moved to a different location on the Reloaded board but now I'm wondering if it's actually mislabeled? R66 seems to be sitting right where C75 is on my donor board. And I can't find C75 anywhere on the Reloaded board.

    Classic - Reloaded build

Hey Kai. Unfortunately the board I have did'n't come pre-populated so I'm in the process of installing all the passives. R2, R6 and R9 are not populated on my donor board so I will leave those off on the rebuild as well. I also noticed that R66 is not in the same location as my donor board...

    Classic - Reloaded build

I'm in the process of putting together a Classic Reloaded board. My question is on board revisions. I noticed that the Reloaded board is for revision 820--0390-03. My donor board is revision 820-0390--B. Is there anything I have to watch out for or do they all pretty much have the same...

Mac Classic II - System 6

6.0.8L is supported but that's for the asian market. I tried running just the regular 6.0.8. When you boot up to ti you get a message that it's not supported but if you hit the interrupt button and then type G it will continue booting. But like I said, it seems to be unstable, at least for...

IIci PSU - Dead as a Dodo

You said you replace the majority but not all? I would replace them all. There's also a cap or two on the little vertical daughterboard the tyou should replace. Oh, and don't forget the Rifas.

Mac Classic II - System 6

Is anybody running system 6 on a Classic II? I tried running it but it seems unstable, it will freeze randomly. I know it wasn't designed for system 6 but I was just wondering if anyone has made it work. I don't have problems running System 7.

    Mac SE - sad Mac

I have an SE that has stopped working. I replaced the power supply with a Seasonic a few years ago. I checked voltages they're fine. I also put Dioxit in the sockets and reseated the roms and tried different Simms with the same result. Could the Simm sockets be bad?

    Mac SE/30 broken trace

Thanks for confirming. I wasn't looking forward to fixing a trace in between two IC's.

    Mac SE/30 broken trace

I'm recapping an SE/30 board and I noticed there's a broken trace. This looks intentional and not from cap juice. I also find it odd that it's between two IC's for it to be accidental but it's always possible. I'm wondering if this was done by Apple since there's also a bodge wire underneath...

    LCII - static display issue

I'm having an issue with an LCII. The unit was dead so I went ahead and recapped it. It starts now but I'm getting this static weirdness on the display. Anyone have any ideas what the issue could be?

    Macintosh SE Reloaded project

Finally starting populating the new logic board. I have to say I really like the board in red (purchased from Maceffects). I know there were some discussions about people not liking the red but I think it stands out nicely.

    Macintosh SE Reloaded project

You're probably right, Kai. Unfortunately, I already received my component order so these SIMM sockets will have to do for now. If they break I can always replace them. 😂

    Macintosh SE Reloaded project

After watching JDW's SE reloaded videos on Youtube, I decided to give it a try. It seemed like something fun to do. I bought a non-working Mac SE Superdrive locally for $30 and assessed the damage. Not surprisingly, the usual damage like the battery exploding had occurred. This was the...
