Also I managed to pick up another 4mb of memory.... now with 8mb of memory the IIfx works much better. Would be nice to have more but maybe something will come up down the road.

I managed to pick up some replacement ROMS from a Japanese site https://buyee.jp/item/jdirectitems/auction/l1182175644?conversionType=crosssearch and my SE is now working :)

It turned out to be the diode near C10. One of the legs had a cracked solder joint and after resoldering it now works! Thanks for the help :)

Thanks David... especially for the shot of the traces under the chips... it really helped. Unfortunately still the same issue. Another enthusiast I know has now recommended I check out the diodes in the circuit... hopefully issue is there.

Downloaded the schematics and gone over the traces, all look correct. Might just see if I can fine another Mac SE FDHD and steal the roms from that.
