I've had some interest in the Pippin since I first saw one, which was the same day I learned of its existence. I don't recall it ever showing up in my gaming magazines as I played on my friend's PlayStations and Saturns while I waited for my pre-order N64 (which was called the Ultra 64 at that...

I don't see a combination that will do USB A to Mini DIN 8-Pin? Is there a known set of cables/adapters that will let me connect a modern Mac to an SE/30 board?

I was going to mention the same thing. I had a demo lab of Mac minis that I would let people access to test out data center access and performance. I would use DeployStudio to wipe and rebuild them after each session.

My #MARCHintosh project lists include getting an ImageWriter II up and running and use Simple Spooler on an SE/30 to share it for printing. I also have ZZJ boosters for each SE/30 that I want to get installed. I have some general projects to get OS's and software setup on my SE/30's and an...

I had a mostly working eMate that needed a hinge repair and was not recognizing touch events. I rebuilt the hinges and replaced the screen cable. Everything is back to working order -- except that I hear a hum when I turn on the backlight. I don't recall hearing it before. Does anyone have an...

Thank you for putting these together. You don't have to, but have you thought about uploading these to printables? I only ask because it's the place I bookmark prints I need to make and my Beige G3 is apart on my bench, but I have a few more projects to wrap up first :)

Thank you for sharing that. Koala paint with the pad is one of my earliest memories. I must have been preschool or kindergarten-aged. In early grade school I would have spent more time with games like summer and winter games, paperboy, dig dug, zaxxon, bruce lee, TMNT, tapper, test drive, spy...

I have one of those units in a working SE/30, and I plan on buying a similar one for an empty shell of a power supply for another build. Pricey, but works and keeps the original aesthetic.

I get that. The thing driving it up for me is the NeXT stuff and, maybe, I've never seen a good deal on so I assume it's worth what I see them posted at. Whereas I know that a yellowed, scratched-up SE isn't worth $600. Plus, there is the overhead of moving everything and the risk of plastic...

At the risk that someone will swoop in and grab it all, I'm curious if anyone is interested in large portions of this collection: https://www.facebook.com/share/1M11kxNCyf/ The asking price is $50k which is a bit of a reach. In my head I think something less than half of that is where it...

Sorry for being late to the party! I don't recall how thoroughly I searched for other models, but I think I opted for my own design because I wanted to justify my Shapr3D license. I did not realize people were actually using my design as no one has marked it as a 'make' on Printables or...

I was thinking about some aesthetic choices for my project, and it hit me that a slightly smoked/tinted version could look nice. I'm a current backer and would pick up a second if the factory were willing to experiment with a smoked version. I'm sure deviating from the production batch is a...

I saw your video and that's where I learned of the reloaded option as a service. I knew the boards were produced, but it would be a heavy lift for me to do the entire board myself. Thank you for sharing all of that and putting it out there!

Thank you 🙏 "Good" OEM ROM - 1.36mm thick "Bad" OEM ROM - 1.14mm thick BMOW ROMinator - 1.25mm thick Bent the metal clips to make it a tighter fit and it boots!!! Now to stability test with Board B, OWC RAM, and ROMinator. If the RAM and ROMinator turn out to be stable then I wonder if the...

Good to note. I used 3D Printed clips to hold in the ROM on Board A. Board B has metal clips which BMOW says is good without additional clips/pressure.

TL: DR; Board A is instable, but will boot with a ROMinator and 64MB of OWC RAM. Board B is stable, but refuses to boot with anything but a specific ROM/RAM combo. This SE/30 project has been ongoing for years and I've done countless hours of testing because I was at a point where I could not...
