Hacking the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (New Thread)

This sounds like the auto-exposure feature on the Reels. The custom firmware turns this off, yes.

Hacking the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (New Thread)

At my maxed zoomed-out image without color bars, it can't show opposite borders (top and bottom, or left and right). It's getting most of the image, but it's losing too much for satisfactory archival purposes.

Hacking the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (New Thread)

I've completed both mods—Deano's lens mod and melw 's FW—on my Type D unit. I'm so grateful to melw for the Type-D FW work, and to 0dan0, Deano, and everyone who's contributed. I have a couple of issues, and report. #1. The farthest zoom-out settings give colored bars. (I'm calling the...

Hacking the Kodak Reels 8mm Film Digitizer (New Thread)

I got this off eBay from a user who apparently bought it new, used it once for his batch of reels. It just arrived today. My grandmother was an avid home-video maker. I have 112 reels, from 1942-1971, both 8mm and Super 8.
