Steve Job's Macintosh SE used at Next could sell for $300,000...

prolly the one time its actually accurate to put *STEVE JOBS* on an auction title.

How do we know the seller is being truthful in that context? :) There are too many eBay listings using Steve Jobs' name in the listing titles for various Apple stuff to say, "Steve used this. He wore this shirt. Jobs signed with that pen."

The hard drive has evidence that it was used by various different people through the years by jobs and others around him. Has evidence about what Steve Jobs was doing during this time frame.

that is, they have more proof than simply putting his name in the title.

i guess somebody could have made all that data up and put it on teh hard drive. but that seems .. Doubtful to me.

I came upon a Mac that was owned by a famous 1980s director (a person who didn't think we'd need roads by 2015) and based on the sheer amount of personal information and otherwise never revealed content, there is absolutely no doubt as to who used it. If the machine on auction has as much otherwise unpublished information, then I think there would be no question that it was used by who they claim.
