TwinSlot for 6360 & 5x00 tests being done IRL. 8+ years long project draws to a close!

Can't make it out from the wide angle shot, but there are the two VidCards in the TAttleTech PCI Report.

TwinSlot for 6360 & 5x00 tests being done IRL. 8+ years long project draws to a close!

5.2 MILLION PIXELS! Gotta be a record for a 6360/5x00 Machine, on three displays no less with 24bit on the two larger panels. The backplane plate was in the way to hook up the second VidCard. Couldn't find my RA VGA pigtail in order to move the hookup connector out through the vestigial PDS...

TwinSlot for 6360 & 5x00 tests being done IRL. 8+ years long project draws to a close!

YAY! You got me thinking outside where I'd boxed myself into only using Slot B_1 for USB/FW! :D I can just as well throw a second VidCard in there for a three screen Alchemy/Gazelle machine as my test case for TwinSlot!

TwinSlot for 6360 & 5x00 tests being done IRL. 8+ years long project draws to a close!

I need to get on with seriously testing DoubleBourrage. Yesterday was my first day back to work after a six month hiatus on workman's comp. Hated forced "retirement" especially the first three months of recovery. But I'm back to limited playtime again. Double edged sword that. Tangent...

TwinSlot for 6360 & 5x00 tests being done IRL. 8+ years long project draws to a close!

Dunno, all you do is well above my pay grade. I just reverse engineered the 6x00 riser and applied what I'd learned to set up the "Mythical Slot_C" @trag had as the third PCI Slot on one of his clone risers along with a CSII Slot that was taped over. Apple tied all four interrupts together...

TwinSlot for 6360 & 5x00 tests being done IRL. 8+ years long project draws to a close!

Thanks, very cool info about available slots, especially Slot_F1 for ATI in Gazelle. I was under the impression that archicture wouldn't support the Mythical Slot C so it's good to see it does! Next it's on to spelunking for Slot_F1 it seems. Not really expecting to find it supported in the...

TwinSlot for 6360 & 5x00 tests being done IRL. 8+ years long project draws to a close!

Small screen's the 6360's built-in graphics set at 640x480 so TT Reports show up nice and big. Graphics Card in standard slot A1 is driving the big panel at 1920x1200. ATI Graphics are nice, but take up a PCI address, so Gazelle can handle one less PCI Card than Alchemy? I imagine...

TwinSlot for 6360 & 5x00 tests being done IRL. 8+ years long project draws to a close!

@luRaichu jumped into the project with both feet. He did the board layout, ordered the PCBs, the components, assembled the first one and it's in my grubby little paws for testing! All goes well so far outside of playing whack-a-mole with the gremlins actively undermining my attempts to get a...

Xilinx/AMD: no more free Linux licenses

Thanks for the explanation, that certainly does suck. Why would they remove Linux support, streamlining their development?

It's all jibberish in friggin' Greek to me, could you explain evil intent and effects?

    What did you cook today?

Do share please! Love the stuff in red spaghetti sauce, prep eludes me. Fried in garlic. olive oil pasta sauce, that I may someday give a try at myself. Go to battered deep fried ringlets and tentacles with a great sweet-n-sour dip, OMG I love that with any kind of Margarita. Please share you...

We are very obviously need a drooling YUMMY!!!! "Like" icon, though really not a fan of such. A custom emoticon would be much better as a quick reply, bringing the thread to, top, front and center.

    What did you cook today?

Seriously, use the middle slice to grill garlic toast, garlic avocado toast , top with misc. small /sliced mixed veggies grilled on some grill accessory. Could bake buns wider, cut burger into four pizza slices and serve the wedge-cut buns stabbed in the heart with fancy toothpics?

    TAM - Aux PSU for Expansion Card(s) in Development . . .

Pulled post from Parallel MLA thread: ____________________________________________________________ Did a more refined diagram in AI8: In parallel TD thread, It came up that USB-C can only output one voltage at a time. But the little Power Converter/Power Supply is the only powered device and...

    TAM - Aux PSU for Expansion Card(s) in Development . . .

My thinking on trying this madness IRL would be a jumper cutout on every power line of the TwinSlot/TAM riser: - fit headers on all lines for baseline testing of the TAM Riser. - match sockets on the AuxPSU protoboard to the risers power cuttouts. - AuxPSU experimental circuits could be done via...

    TAM - Aux PSU for Expansion Card(s) in Development . . .

So USB-C is the rough equivalent of a Switching Power Supply? Might a couple of BIG MOHONKING CAPACITORS even out those switching effects? The power from USB-C AuxPSU to the cards would be continuous and unrelated to soft-power silliness in the rest of the TAM. It won't be replacing the TAM's...
