Anyone refurb 400K Floppy drives?

I have a 128k with internal and external drive and both are in need of TLC, happy to pay someone for refurb/repair.
Please dont send YOUTUBE links, not able to do it myself.
Please respond if you can help.
Im on East coast U.S.

THANK YOU!

Thomas Andrews owns Amiga of Rochester and is on the East Coast:

I paid him to fully clean, recap and do trace repairs on a 5126 Backlit Macintosh Portable, and he is well known in the community. He attends VCF shows too. On that form page, choose General Inquiry and then describe that your 400K drives need servicing.

That's not to say he is the only person able to do the job. But I am merely citing someone in your part of the country that I have personal experience dealing with, and I walked away completely satisfied.

I saw you were getting hassled in “that other forum” today. Some people are in serious need of tact.

Just wanted to follow-up to see if Thomas Andrews worked out.

he never responded but I found someone. I have a pinched nerve in right arm that kills fine motor skills in my dominant hand (So I cant do the tiny springs and such) but gross motor skills are fine so I can disassemble a Mac and remove the drive no problem.

Some people have no class.

I put out a reply indicating his response was insufficient.

There's resources in this community, but they're kind of sparse. I.E. I'd like have my SE/30 motherboard reflowed and looked over, but I don't know of anybody who can do it.

I see what you wrote in that other forum today, and you handled it nicely. 👍

I never tried to contact Thomas on your behalf only because I assumed he would reply to you, but do let me know if you ever want to persue his services because I can reach out to him about your contact attempt.

It's a bit od that he didn't respond. He did work for me on three Classic boards, and was very responsive and informative, including delayig my payment until I'd checked the repairs were good. I wouldn't have hesitated recommending him based on that.

Thomas gets busy at times, but always responds eventually. Good guy - honest and talented!
I also think that sometimes we regard people who offer services and assistance in places like this as a public resource when actually, they're real people with lives and commitments of their own. Sometimes the best of people appear disappointing, when they may be extremely busy, or ill, or just away from home base for vacation.

I do all of those repairs too, but I only take them on with a case-by-case basis, and I only am able to do that stuff on the weekends.

That may or may not be the case for him as well, so he could just be busy.
