From my research into these, it is very common for the power jack to loosen. May have even been part of a recall.
Anyway i read somewhere (likely an old 68kmla comment) where someone said they used to have to repair them a lot and the first thing theyd do post repair is to hot glue the jack to the board to give it more strength.

My 190 would easily lose power if you looked at the cable the wrong way. Also, the speaker would sometimes play a crackly startup chime when I plugged in (it auto startsup as soon as you plug in, at least with a dead battery)

anyway I figured my jack was loose.
So i finally had a chance to go in there.

First, i reflowed the three solder joints. Note these three joints are also the only things holding the jack onto the board. Two of the three are obv. Power and ground. The third is either just a mounting joint or something else but either way it doesn’t have like lots of extra mounting pins like most ports do.

So i reflowed the three solder joints (through hole so solder on the bottom of board).
For a little extra strength I added solder on those same pins but top-side. Can’t hurt right?

lastly, i hot glued the jack to the board.

Works much better now with no issues. Hope it stays that way!

yes i went a little overboard with the glue but.. hoping it stays fixed…

pics are of post-reflow then post-glue.
